Ten Ocean View

Ten Ocean View is a lovely guest house in St Ives Cornwall.  I first stayed there for my wife’s birthday in 2011.  It is situated on Barnoon Terrace with some fantastic views ofthe Island, chapel and the ocean.  The rates are fairly reasonable for St Ives too which can help if you are only staying for a few days and they also have parking which can save a few quid.  Parking is after all, at a premium in St Ives.  There are a few rooms available all of which are furnished to a high standard and very comfortable.

On the occasion we stayed at Ten Ocean View I had ordered a gift for my wife for her birthday and it had arrived two days before we were going in the wrong size.  As you can imagine that gave me no time to return it and get a new one before we arrived in St Ives for her birthday.  However the company could accommodate delivering it straight to the guest house and the owners Mike and Gill were fantastic in accepting this as a solution, taking delivery and hiding it safe for her birthday.  A little touch that really helped out stay.  We have stayed a few times now and Mike and Gill have been really welcoming hosts, the breakfast is fantastic, a selection of juices, fruits, cakes and cereal complemented with the old favourite, the full English.

In fact the last time we stayed at Ten Ocean View, we parked our car in the garage, Mike noticed we had seagullness on the car windscreen when we parked, he said “I’ll get that off for you before you leave,” naturally I said no don’t be silly but true to his word when I went to get the car upon departure, there was not a spec in sight.  Moreover on our final day we checked out around 11 but we weren’t leaving until after lunch and kindly they let us park until then rather than moving the car and paying.

I can’t recommend the place highly enough, a lovely guest house, lovely rooms, lovely views and lovely people.  Enjoy!
